This is truely a factory conversion. Two parts. The factory parts first. Came well packaged all on one pallet along with the other stuff I ordered via freight. The factory center exhaust valence was in perfect shape painted in carbon flash. The video showing the install made the conversion very easy. I did all of it by myself and had no hiccups.
The track center exhaust install was really easy if you’re mechanically inclined. I had my intake off and out of the way for its intake install so getting to the cat back flange was easy. I had the old exhaust off in 20-30 min. I only had a little trouble putting the new one on because I tried to put the new drivers side gasket over the old one which caused an exhaust leak but took it off and realized the stock gasket was still on the cat. It seemed in perfect shape so I just mounted the exhaust onto the old gasket. Once all torqued to spec no exhaust leaks.
The exhaust lines up with the factory center exit tips perfectly and looks like it should have from factory IMO. Personal choice. You do you.
Cold start is attention getting but it settles down quick. I only saw 101dB at first but sounds louder so I’ll repeat that test. You not only hear this exhaust you feel it. The car behind you will feel it.
Brand new and cold I had drone from 1800-2200 rpm’s but once hot it diminished dramatically. A repeat warm start it was basically gone. I’ve also noticed with repeated heat cycles that cold start initial drive of the day drone was much reduced. I’m guessing heat cycles have relieved stresses and changed resonance of the sound.
Deceleration pops and crackles are there. General consensus among my friends it sounds awesome and I notice mostly guys rolling down their window to hear the car as they drive by. Makes me chuckle but it’s happened on almost every drive. This setup is transformative if you’re ok with fairly loud all the time although keeping RPMs low and driving easy it’s pretty mellow and not obnoxious at all. I also noticed shifts pop harder. Not sure what it is. Almost like the exhaust itself pops. Under load giving it the beams getting on the highway my buddy behind me said each shift sounded like a gun shot. It sounded nothing like the paragon video you can find on YouTube. I’d say more angry and agressive. I’d guess because video just can’t capture it. I love it.
